What is the Reactant Force, R_A [lb]?

Solution: Due to the symmetry of the system we can say that R_A = R_E, therefore summing the forces in the vertical direction gives:

2(R_A) = 5(W)

R_A = 5/2(W) = 5/2(200 lb) = 500 lb
